Bitcoin Mandela

Bitcoin Mandela (@MandelaBTC, bio “ThePeoplesPresident”) is a Nigerian member of the $BITCOIN (HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu) community. In June 2023 he was cast as Bitcoin Obama's rival for “president of the people's $Bitcoin” and called him “a liar and fraud”. From September 2023 he organized Sproto Street and the Sproto-painted water wells in Nigeria, paid for by holders, which Obama cheered with “I love this project”. By 2026 he had moved from the wells into local politics.

The 2023 rivalry

His first post about Obama, on Jun 7, 2023 (CT), was a reply to Nigerian Phil: “All fucking lies, Bitcoin Obama is a liar and fraud”[1]. That afternoon the two met in an X Space, which Will_uminati billed as “Bitcoin Obama and Bitcoin Mandella are debating on who will be the president of the people's $Bitcoin”[2]. The next night he complained that no one would hear him out and that “they are under Bitcoin Obama spell”[3], and myesverygood announced “our new president Ethereum Mandela”[4]. In August 2023 hahahodling joked about an “Impeachment for bitcoin Obama, Mandela is sproto president now”[5].[6]

Sproto Street and the wells

On Sep 9, 2023 he began selling spots on a Nigerian street wall where holders could have their Sproto Gremlins painted, and said he was buying the street name to call it “SPROTO STREET”[7]. The water project followed: the first well, at Onipanu village, was finished in October 2023. In December 2023 his goal was “to reach 10 wells in Nigeria and possibly more”[8], and in October 2024 he celebrated the 50th water charity project. He went back to check on the first well in December 2025 and revived the wall as the “Sproto Street Chronicles” in July 2026. Relationship with Bitcoin Obama

By mid 2023 the feud had cooled. Obama tagged him in a July 2023 post calling HPOS10I “the best community project”[12], and he replied to the well drive with “Am still” and “I love this project”[13]. Bitcoin Obama is not credited in Bitcoin Mandela's posts as an organizer or funder of the wells, and in 2024 usedtowels10 wrote “Imagine if bitcoin obama had the drive and commitment of Bitcoin Mandela”[14]. Bitcoin Mandela still jokes about him, with “Bitcoin Obama winning the oscars next”[15] in November 2025 and “Bitcoin Obama?”[16] in July 2026.[17]

Politics (2026)

On Oct 11, 2026 he wrote that he had been “nominated by my people to represent them in government because of the work we have done together”[18], thanking “the Ticker $Bitcoin Community”, and called it “WEB3 in politics, not for personal gain, but to create real world impact”. Four days later he posted the commissioning of a new water well and toilet facility.[19]

Other accounts
