Bitcoin Obama 2.0 (@thebitcoinobama) is a Nigerian persona account in the $BITCOIN (HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu) community, created in May 2024 as a second Bitcoin Obama. Two days after it joined X it stood in for Obama at a debate with Ethereum Trump. The community welcomed it as the “BIGGER, better Bitcoin Obama”, and it calls itself “the legend” and “the king of bitcoin Obama 2.0”. In September 2024 it turned on the original, saying Obama “is in a broke period” and “would do anything for money”. The original Bitcoin Obama is @BitcoinObama (now @obama__nastty); the two are different people. In real life he poses in a padded blue-and-tan Sonic the Hedgehog costume, which is how he appears in most of his own photos.

In real life

Bitcoin Obama 2.0 shows himself in a padded, oversized blue-and-tan Sonic the Hedgehog suit, the “Sonic” of HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu, usually framed with “Harry Potter” and “OBAMA” lettering. Morelight greeted him in July 2024 with “WE LOVE YOU FAT ASS BITCOIN OBAMA 2.0”[1], and TheRevCloud called him “the BIGGER, better Bitcoin Obama”. All of the photos below come from his own posts.

History

Debut (2024)

On May 16, 2024 (CT) Yannix hosted a debate between “The Legendary BITCOIN Obama”[2] and Ethereum Trump, and wrote that “BITCOIN Obama hasn't shown up so we have BITCOIN Obama 2.0 joining us”. In July 2024 a wave of posts congratulated the new account: Morelight wrote “WE LOVE YOU FAT ASS BITCOIN OBAMA 2.0”[1] and TheRevCloud “HUGE congrats to the BIGGER, better Bitcoin Obama!”[3] A few days later it posted a remix it said featured Lil Pump.[4]

Against the original (September 2024)

On Sep 3, 2024 it attacked Obama, saying he was using his influence on the HPOS10I community and was “in a broke period ATM”[5]. Sprotel answered “I like you BITCOIN OBAMA 2.0 I sympathise. But this is a war you cannot win”[6], and Frothless posted “BITCOIN OBAMA 2024”[7]. Two weeks later it declared “I am the legend I am the winner I am the king I am bitcoin Obama”[8]. In October 2024 it posted “Meet the legend of bitcoin Obama 2.0”[9] and “All hail the king of bitcoin Obama 2.0”[10].[11]

Later lore (2024 to 2026)

Fat Head Dave asked in November 2024 “if Bitcoin Obama 2.0 is a man or a woman”[12]. In December 2024 Obama answered a thread that tagged the account with “None can kill me”[13]. RedKev joked “Bitcoin Obama 2.0 cookin”[14] (2024) and “Bitcoin Obama 2.0 undertaker wasn't on my bingo card”[15] (2025). After it went quiet, infinitysplittr wrote “You have been missed Bitcoin Obama 2.0”[16] in July 2025. In May 2026 Morelight cast Anthony Hopkins as Bitcoin Obama 2.0, opposite Russell Crowe as “Mr Bitcoins Obama”[17], in an imagined Darren Aronofsky film. On Sep 30, 2026 Obama, on @obama__nastty, told the account “follow me back and dm now”[18] and the next day “Dm I have a job for you”[19].[20]
