Flurks by Stonetoss

Flurks by Stonetoss (usually just Flurks) is a generative NFT collection on Ethereum by the cartoonist Stonetoss. The Flurks are characters from his comics. In December 2024 Bitcoin Obama shilled the collection, calling it “the best nft”.[1][2] Flurks holders later got the $BURGERS token, which Obama also promoted.

The collection

Flurks went on sale on Nov 20, 2021. According to Stonetoss, all 5,000 pieces sold out in about 22 minutes and raised about 420 ETH.[3][4][5] Within hours OpenSea and then Rarible delisted it without giving a reason. Stonetoss called the delisting political censorship, and the case became part of a wider argument about content moderation on NFT marketplaces.[6][7][8][9][7]

Price and where Flurks trade

Flurks are banned from OpenSea, so their price comes from two other markets. Element lists individual Flurks for sale. The NFTX v2 FLURK vault holds Flurks, and each FLURK token can be redeemed for one of them. FLURK trades against ETH in a SushiSwap pool.

The live tracker at the top of this page reads that pool directly from Ethereum. The floor is what it costs to buy one FLURK, which is enough to redeem one Flurk from the vault. The top bid is what you get for selling one FLURK, which is what a holder gets for depositing a Flurk into the vault and selling the token. The pool is small, so a single trade can move both numbers a lot. Element listings can sit above or below the vault price. Scatter shows 4,989 Flurks and about 1,543 owners.

Bitcoin Obama's shill (December 2024)

On Dec 13, 2024 (5:16 PM CT) Obama posted a video with the caption: “The @flurksnft is the best nft today is my first time to shill nft here. We are hit 50 ETH floor soon”.[1][2] The “50 ETH floor” was a joke prediction and never happened. The next day's $BURGERS launch was handed out free to Flurks holders.

The Flurks posts were still drawing replies in 2025. One holder wrote under a Flurks thread: “When bitcoin obama speaks I listen very carefully”.[10]
