Larry Sinclair
Larry Sinclair's 2008 claims about Barack Obama are his own and have never been substantiated.
Larry Sinclair (@seeknmeann, display name “The Larry Sinclair”) is an American man best known for claiming, at a National Press Club press conference on June 18, 2008, that he took cocaine and had sex with Barack Obama in 1999. The claims have never been substantiated. In September 2023, days after he repeated the story to Tucker Carlson, the HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu ($BITCOIN) community hosted him for a Spaces interview, and he later became a regular in its replies, wearing Sproto merch sent to him by holders. No interaction between him and Bitcoin Obama himself has been found.
Background
At the 2008 press conference Sinclair introduced himself as “a former recreational drug user, drug trafficker and … a convicted felon for crimes of forgery, bad checks and theft by check” and said he was raising questions “for others to investigate”. He was arrested after leaving the event on an outstanding Colorado warrant. In 2023 Tucker Carlson published a 42 minute interview with him as episode 22 of Tucker on X, in which he told the story again.
HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu Spaces
Because the coin's name includes Obama's, holders treated Sinclair as an obvious guest. From Sep 13, 2023 virtuagram and others promoted an “interview with Larry Sinclair tonight on spaces hosted by decentralized media brand #HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu”, tagging CNN and the Krassensteins. Pir8teAngel billed it as the start of “a VERY bullish weekend”, alongside the Sproto Gremlin at a Karate Combat event. On the evening of Friday, Sep 15, 2023 (CT), BANNEDRAKER posted “We're live in Spaces right now with Larry Sinclair, his first live appearance following the @TuckerCarlson interview”[1]. The next morning Pir8teAngel reported, as an “HPOS10i EXCLUSIVE”[2], that Sinclair had said on the show he would take legal action against the Daily Mail over its coverage of him.[3]
Holders used the interview as a boast for weeks. Edge0x complained that a news roundup made “No mention that Sproto Gremlins had Larry Sinclair on for an interview right after Tucker Carlson slot”, and DrewLTH listed “A Larry Sinclair spaces”[4] among the coin's best collaborations, next to the Sproto Sports karate sponsorship and the Williams Racing car. Edge0x announced a second Spaces with him for Oct 3, 2023: “He knows how to be serious and have fun, perfect combination for the #HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu community.”[5] On Oct 14 he was a speaker on a “#bitcoin Demon-Free water celebration” Spaces, which coyote_bush captioned “Larry Sinclair believes in Demon-free water!”[6] A week later virtuagram grouped the shows together as “good contemporary gonzo content”[7]: “the q anon shaman … the lord miles interview last week … larry sinclair a few weeks back”.
Sproto merch
In March 2024 Sinclair won a Sproto Gremlins hoodie in a giveaway by the merch maker xMerchnain. When it arrived on Mar 25 he posted photos of himself in it, “Like a kid after Santa makes a visit”[8], and thanked “Every #Sproto”. Holders then sent him more of the range, including the comforter, a blanket, sneakers and the “insurgents mask”, which he narrated being lost by the US Postal Service for over a week in April. On Mar 30 he wrote that he had to “Thank #HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu for their kindness, support, amazing friendships which allowed me to obtain this amazing swag. Eternally in your debt.”[9][10]
He tagged Morelight in most of these posts. He also traded jokes with Oggo.
Raffle and dispute
On May 15, 2024 Sinclair said that, because of health problems that had cost him his Uber job, he wanted to raffle the hoodie, shoes, mask, comforter and blanket “to hopefully be able to fix my truck so I am not walking”[11], and asked the community first “out of respect”. Some holders objected, and on May 26 he apologised that trying to repair his truck “created a conflict for #HPOS10i and it's community”. That summer he set up a Rainbow wallet to receive the coin and posted for VoldemortTrumpRobotnik10neko, a Trump themed spinoff, including a video riffing on clips of his old press conference.
In January 2025 darkgrokbot wrote “Larry Sinclair. Bitch got donated HPOS10i merch then sold it 🤣🤣🤣”. Sinclair answered that he had been given 100 HPOS10I coins, which he returned to Sprotel when he became more seriously ill, and that using the merch to cover medical expenses was “an absolute last resort & done so upfront & honestly”[12].
Legacy
The interview stayed in the community's lists of its achievements. When virtuagram recalled in August 2024 “that time the sprotos interviewed @seeknmeann (larry sinclair)”, Sinclair replied “I do. Love you guys”[13]. In May 2025 dumpstar put “the Larry Sinclair interview was pretty fascinating”[14] among his favourite memories, after “Being introduced to bitcoin obama”, and Fat Head Dave's September 2026 list of the coin's milestones includes “Interviews with Larry Sinclair, QAnon Shaman, Lord Miles, Shoenice”[15].
