HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu (HPOS10I), ticker $BITCOIN, is an Ethereum meme coin launched in May 2023 CoinGecko. $BITCOIN is not Bitcoin ($BTC). Bitcoin Obama is named after it: Harry Potter Obama Sonic 10 Inu, ticker $BITCOIN. Its holders, the Sprotos, were calling him Bitcoin Obama by May 17, 2023. He dates his own shilling to about May 30, 2023, “from 600K” market cap. The community's self-styled leader is Morelight, his “father”. Since 2026 the community has also run Sproto Ranch, a live show hosted by Morelight, and, from October 2026, The Hatchery, a launchpad whose coins are paired with HPOS10I.

What Bitcoin Obama said

His devotion to the coin is the basis of several catchphrases. In 2023 he was sure “TICKER $BITCOIN WILL HIT BILLIONS”[1], said he was born in it and would die in it[2], and made it his life (“BITCOIN IS MY LIFE”).[3] In January 2024 he called it “my father and Mather” and declared that anyone who hated it was his hater.[4] On May 30, 2024 he marked a year of shilling it, “from 600K last year”, with a new target of 100B.[5][6]

The devotion has limits. In February 2024 he “retired from ticker BITCOIN” because the community would not give him 2 ETH for his election campaign[7], and in June he set his price for returning: “100K bitcoin as holder and 1 SPROTO”.[8] He has always come back. In May 2026 he was “healing the pulsechain with ticker bitcoin on pulsechain”[9], and in October 2026 he insisted “Even if the @tickerBITCOINbb hate me i must support ticker bitcoin”.[10]

Outside coverage of the coin mentions him too. In Mikawa's February 2025 Medium history of HPOS10I and its Sproto NFTs, the community member Rumble Pak cites “Bitcoin Obama selling 3 of them” as Sprotos that “are now all rares” (see Sproto Gremlins).[11]

The community also archives him. The Bitcoin Obama Sanctuary Telegram holds a photo forwarded on Jan 1, 2024 from “HPOS10I | $BITCOIN (Leader)”; in October 2024 it linked the fan-made HPOS10i Shiller Soundboard; and in April 2025 Nigerian Phil titled one of Obama's clips “Harry Potters Obama Sonic 10 inu”.[12][13][12][14][12][15]

The trial and the exorcism

In June 2023 the community cast him as a defendant. On June 5, 2023 holders began posting “FREE BITCOIN OBAMA”[16] and announced that he was “currently on trial in what is the people vs BITCOIN OBAMA” because “Some ETH went missing”, with a poll to “determine the fate of shiller”.[17] Three days later came “THE EXORCISM OF BITCOIN OBAMA”, in which he “breaks free from the haunting clutches of his ill-fated coin gambles”.[18]

Holders still tell the story. In 2025 one called the trial their “favourite Sproto memory”: he had been given $BITCOIN “to buy his mom a car or something, then we found out he was selling it to buy microcap shitters”.[19]
