Nate Fouts

Nate Fouts (Nathan Fouts, @LittlefootNate, display name “Foot”) is a singer, rapper and songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. He is best known for “Educated” (2018), promoted with a staged video in which a gun appears to go off in his bedroom while he raps along and his mother storms in. The clip went viral in 2018 and still resurfaces online, usually without the context that it was staged. His 2025 single “Chasin Chickens” became his calling card in the HarryPotterObamaSonic10Inu ($BITCOIN) community, where he tags his songs, album and novel with #HarryPotterObamaSonic10inu. His X bio reads “PHD in angry mediocre white male cultural studies”. In June 2025 he declared himself a “war general” of Bitcoin Obama in Obama's “civil war”, and he is a regular in the replies of Frothless and Cryptoiscrack.

Early life and background

Fouts is a Nashville native. His website describes him as a classically trained singer with a baritone/bass voice who sang gospel songs and Frank Sinatra numbers when he was younger, began writing songs at 14 and freestyled in the stairwells of his high school. After a short stint at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, he performed hip hop at Miami EDM clubs and acoustic songs at local bars before returning to his hometown to record.[1] In 2018 he wrote that he really did live at his mother's house, where the “Educated” video was filmed.[2]

Music career

His first album, Did You See That (14 tracks), is dated May 7, 2015 and was released through Cake Records, LLC, which put out his music until 2020.[3][4] His website also features “That's My Dog”, which he says he wrote with Ernest in 2017, the day before his dog Milo died.[1]

In 2018 he released the single “Educated” (July 21, 2018), after an official lyric video on his YouTube channel on June 28.[5][6] It opened his second album, Crazy How It Go (August 16, 2018, 18 tracks), with guest spots from Jaxx Versa, Theodore Dali, Case Arnold, Ernest K., Tommy Swisher and Miles Jackson.[7] Singles followed through 2020, including “Who Are You”, “Hysteria”, “How Does It Feel?” (July 2020, with an official music video) and “Supersonic”.[4][8]

From 2021 his releases carry his own name as rights holder: “Sky” (featuring Tim Gent and Brad Jennings), “Money Like Regis”, “Fear No Man”, and a third album, Antihero (July 30, 2021, 11 tracks).[9][10] He put out singles steadily from 2023, almost weekly in early 2024. “Better Alone” and “You Can't Run” (2024) are credited to Delights, the same name as the publisher of his novel.[4][11]

“Chasin Chickens” came out on May 5, 2025 as a single he produced himself; its cover shows a cartoon rooster holding a shotgun.[12][13] He pushed it on X in July 2025 with #HarryPotterObamaSonic10inu and #SprotoGremlins, wearing a Sproto Gremlins tee, and the phrase “chasin chickens” became a catchphrase of his. In 2026 he posted his album to the Sprotos, calling it the “GREATEST ARTISTIC ALBUM OUT OF NASHVILLE SINCE LIKE MAYBE KINGS OF LEON”.

The “Educated” video

The video was filmed in his bedroom at his mother's house. As “Educated” (then unreleased) plays, Fouts dances and raps along while smoking and waving a handgun. The gun goes off; he drops it and looks around, dazed, and his mother rushes in shouting, hits him and drags him out of frame.[2][14] He posted it on his Instagram in June 2018, and copies spread within days; one was on YouTube by June 25.[2][15] In a Reddit AMA on July 7, 2018 he said the clip had reached the front page of Reddit, and that it was staged.[2]

His manager at the time, Kohrey, wrote in September 2018 that the stunt was planned: he placed the clip with Instagram meme pages and music pages, from where it spread to Facebook, Twitter and Reddit. He also wrote that it was picked up by WorldStar and featured in a segment on Desus and Mero's Vice show.[14] Those two pick-ups are reported only by the manager and could not be independently confirmed.

On February 12, 2019 Fouts put the clip on his own YouTube channel as “staged video me and my mom made to make my song ‘Educated’ go viral”, captioned “Give my mom an Oscar.”[16] He later explained on Instagram that the shot was a blank cartridge, and shared a second angle showing his father crawling in, wearing ear protection, to pick up the cigarette he had dropped so it would not burn the carpet.[17]

The clip keeps resurfacing as a real accident. It ran as a cautionary tale on the Greek site ProtoThema in February 2020 and on Hip-Hop Vibe in January 2024.[18][19] An X post in January 2025 shared it as a real “gangster” mishap; the Italian fact-checker Facta identified Fouts and reported that the scene was staged, filmed in 2017, and the shot a blank.[17] Fouts often replies to new copies of the clip to say it is him and his song, and in September 2026 Cryptoiscrack realised the song in the clip was Nate's.

His claim that Waka Flocka Flame's mother discussed the clip in an HBO documentary is his own and has not been verified.

Writing

His novel Unhappy People was published by Delights Enterprises under the name Rutherford Winfield (dated January 1, 2026; 237 pages). It is a coming-of-age story about Henri, a shy film student, and his best friend Nate, an ambitious musician.[11] His website advertises it as “UNHAPPY PEOPLE BY RUTHERFORD WINFIELD”, and in July 2026 he promoted it on X as “my latest book”, which Cryptoiscrack shared.[20]

The 2025 “civil war”

In early June 2025 Nate followed Bitcoin Obama's feud with Frothless on his @obama_nastty account. He first noted “Wow @BitcoinObama got beef”, then answered Obama's posts with “I’m ready” and “Start the civil war”, joking that Frothless “also had sex with my wife”. When a follower asked who “this bitcoin Obama guy” was, he named himself one of Obama's war generals. Days later he pitched Obama to the singer Sean Kingston as “a WIZARD”. The Obama posts he was replying to were on @obama_nastty, which is suspended, so they cannot be shown.

Frothless's “wife” and other bits

In late July 2025 Frothless tagged Nate under an Obama post, and Nate called it “an insane plot twist” before identifying a woman in another Obama post as “@FrothlessPlease ‘s wife!!!”. He later asked Obama, with Grok tagged, whether he had a girlfriend, and in February 2026 replied to Frothless that Obama “is in the files”.

2026

In July 2026 he posted “BITCOIN ROBIN WILLIAMS STRIKES AGAIN” about Bitcoin Robin Williams, the Lagos painter from the podcast, and Cryptoiscrack complained the painter had never painted his Sproto either. In September Frothless joked “The bottom is in or @LittlefootNate is gay”, and Obama replied asking Frothless to buy him a bag “as I did for you in Obama coin”. When Nate asked in October where he should go, a holder answered “Sproto ranch” (see Sproto Ranch); another had suggested a ranch community farm in a thread with Morelight.
