RedKev (@redkev, display name “ReDKeV”) is an artist and memer in the Sproto Gremlins community. His bio reads “✝️ | artist | memes | @SprotoGremlins”, and the account dates from November 2021. In June 2023, weeks after Bitcoin Obama first appeared, he wrote one of the earliest pieces of Obama lore: a mock news thread in which Obama is shot saving CZ. He has posted about Obama ever since, and Obama has replied to him from several of his accounts.

The CZ thread

On Jun 7, 2023 (around 4:35 PM CT) RedKev posted a mock breaking news thread about an attempt on the life of Binance founder CZ. In it the bullets “started flying towards CZ, but our hero was there just in time. He jumped in front of CZ, shielding him”. The “Outcome” post says the assailants “had missed CZ and hit the future president of Nigeria, Bitcoin Obama”^[1], and that “CZ rushed to help and held Bitcoin Obama in his arms when he uttered ‘harrypotterobamasonic10inu to 1B MC’ before passing out”. The “Aftermath” post says Obama “is expected to make a full recovery”^[2] and that CZ “said he would do anything he could to help $Bitcoin”.

Relationship with Bitcoin Obama

2023: “Bitcoin Obama is taking over the world”

In the first months RedKev cheered Obama on. He told a Nigerian news account “Bitcoin Obama would never let this happen, time for a change”^[3], and wrote “It's beautiful, Bitcoin obama is taking over the world”^[4]. On Jul 23, 2023 Obama tagged him, with other artists, in a post calling an NFT “best NFT of the world”^[5].^[6]^[7]

2024 and 2025: Bitcoin Obama 2.0

Replying to Bitcoin Obama 2.0 he wrote “Bitcoin Obama 2.0 cookin 👨‍🍳”^[8] (Aug 2024) and “Bitcoin Obama 2.0 undertaker wasn't on my bingo card”^[9] (Feb 2025). His jokes grew drier. He wrote that “bitcoin obama has only ever devved rugs bro”^[10], that “barack and Michelle are the heroes, bitcoin obama is the villian last I heard”^[11] (asked whether a project would feature Bitcoin Obama or the real one), that “using bitcoin obama to promote is the worse thing you could've done”^[12], and, in October 2025, “im really glad we are phasing out irl bitcoin obama for sora bitcoin obama”^[13].

2026

Obama's 2026 replies in his threads are short and transactional: “Poor team” (May), “No until get paid”^[14] (June), and, in September, that he had been “waiting for you in telegram”^[15] for “almost 9 hours in market”. In October 2026 RedKev replied to Cryptoiscrack's “Bitcoin Obama: A History” thread that it “forgot oggo and big swole sister dating show 🫣”. He also praised Bitcoin Robin Williams' “persistence that few will ever be able to match”.^[16]^[17]
